Maria de Lurdes Azevedo Moreira Silva Gomes, completed her Master’s degree in Visual Arts Teaching Education in 2010 at the Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade do Porto, and a degree in Equipment Design in 2002 at the Escola Superior de Artes e Design. She has been studying for a PhD in Arts Education at the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto (FBAUP) since October 2019 and is a collaborating researcher at i2ADS, carrying out research on arts education with ID_CAI. Lurdes Gomes has been a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave (IPCA) and the Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design (ESMAD) since 2017, but her first experience as a Visiting Assistant Professor was in 2010. She is responsible for the curricular units of Interaction Design, Design Management, Visualisation, Drawing and Technical Representation, History of Fashion, Digital Illustration, Materials and Production Processes, and Furniture Design and has been supervising the final reports of the students of the courses she teaches. She is awaiting her PhD in Arts Education at FBAUP with a thesis entitled “DESIGN TEACHING | REFLECTION OF A TEACHING PRACTICE – concerns about the exercise of teaching practice in higher design education”. Lurdes Gomes carries out research into Arts Education.
